Go PCS
I have a Toshiba laptop running W2k at work, and two W98 desktops at
home on a small network. For a long time, I was able to bring the
laptop home, and share my W98 pc's and the printer. Since we
"upgraded" the domain at work to "AD Domain", I cannot share the home
pc's or printer. For example, I removed the printer from the laptop. I
am trying to reinstall it, and get this message "There are currently
no logon servers available to service the logon request."
On sharing files, all computers have printers and files shared. When I
am on the W98 pc, and search for the shared drive on the W2k laptop, I
get a message "There are no items to show in this view." When I am on
the W2k laptop and search for the shared drive on a W98 pc such as
"\\computer\c", the computer is displayed under the Search Results.
When I double-click on the computer name, I get the message
"\\computer is not accessible. There are currently no logon servers
available to service the logon request."
I can ping the W2k laptop from the W98 desktop, and vice-versa, with
both the IP address and computer name.
Looks like the AD Domain parameters has hosed up my laptop usage at
home.
Any suggestions? Thank you.
