I am trying to move my Outlook.pst folders to another location (with Outlook
closed), but cannot do so. It tells me "Cannot move Outlook. There has been
a sharing violation. The source or destination file may be in use". Is this
because I have Activesync, a mobile phone contacts sync programme and/or an
antivirus/firewall program running on my programme? Can you advise what I
will have to do to to free up the pst folder so I can move it?

Yes, these applicaitons can keep Outlook running. Make sure the Outlook.exe
process has stopped. You can also start your computer in safe mode and move
the file then if they really don't want to release Outlook.

Tips of the month:
-FREE tool; QuickMail. Create new Outlook items anywhere from within Windows
-Properly back-up and restore your Outlook data

Thanks for this. I could only solve the problem by starting Outlook in Safe
mode. I could find no other way of ensuring all Outlook.exe activity had
stopped. It certainly didn't stop simply by closing Outlook.

Thanks for your help
