I also have this problem, and nothing seems to resolve it. I am a SINGLE
user, no others are connected to my home computer. I'm getting a similar
message on my Word documents.

I end up saving versions that have random numbers and letters in them, and
if I want to save my own title for the document, I have to use another,
different one, or add a number to the end of my original name. Then I have
to totally get out of the system, and shut down my computer before I am
allowed to go back in and delete my numerous versions of the same items that
I've updated.

I have checked and have NOTHING clicked to indicate there are other
authorized users on my computer. My daughter has the same problem, and has
had it for a longer period of time.

It seems to me that Microsoft should know of this problem, and publish the
solution. Why are we not hearing from them about this annoying little quirk?
It's very frustrating to the users!!!

I am having the same problems, with locked files, this is crippling our
company, does MS have any answers or fixes?

I am getting locks on a number of files, shared and unshared, I created and
signed all these files myself, in the shared files there are users that are
accesing the file more than once from the same computer, even though the
computer is off. In the non shared files I am locked out by my self, even if
I shut down my computer and try accesing it from another station, my user is
still locking it, we have re-booted the entire network and are still having
the same issues. I have searched through previous queries and am unable to
find an actual resolution to what seems to be a problem other people are
having
