sharing the whole drive

I can share folders, but how do I share the while drive?
I set it for sharing, but they even do not get that palm-sign of sharing

By default the operating system shares the root drives.

When mapping to the root drove use the syntax:
\\server\C$. Only an administrator account has access to
this type of share. That goes for all local drives to the
server. WINNT, WIN2000, WINXP Pro...

In drive -Properties I have Sharing tab which already has c$ and it does not
allow me to change it.

Where do I use the syntax: \\server\C$ ?
 
I believe this might help you.

Open the properties as you normally would for the drive.

On the sharing tab, near the bottom of the properties
window, there *should* be a button [New Share]

If you click this button, you should be able to add a
second share-name, and with that share name, the
permissions, maximum connections, etc. can be configure
seperately from the C$ share.

After that, when you need to edit the share, you go to the
same place, but you will need to select the second share
name from the drop down to edit that share.
