Sharing The Calendar without Exchange

Is there any way to share my outlook calendar with my friends and family and see their's without an exchange server? I enjoy using it at work for scheduling meetings, events and the like, but wish I could do this with friends and family

If the answer is no, is there an online service like say Plaxo that allows you to share your outlook Calendar with designated individuals?
