Help - I need to transfer data between old and dying and
new PC but have no "Sharing.." menu option after right
click on drive nor Share tab in Properties.
The only article in MS knowledge base refers to Missing
Share Tab on NT Web "server".
Any idea?
Thanks Vaclav

Make sure that file and print sharing is installed and enabled in network
connections/network properties for your network adapter listed there. You could also
put the drive from the old computer into your new computer as a second/slave drive to
copy data off of if. You may need to configure drive as slave or cable select
depending on how you do it. It would probably be easiest to connect it to secondary
ide adapter that cdroms are currently using. The cables do plug in a certain way so
pay attention to the red stripe on one end that signifies pin number one connector.
You may also need to take ownership and assign yourself full permissions to those
folder/files if you have trouble copying. -- Steve

I'll check that.

I forgot to mention that I am working with lap tops!
