I have a small home network with a file server and have two computers that I work on. For the most part, I have all of my data files and documents on the server so that I can access them from either computer. I would like to have my outlook.pst file on the server so that I can access my contact, mail, notes, etc... from either workstation. I realise that outlook is not a mail server and that I probably can not have outlook open on both systems at once

How do I configure outlook to use a particular PST file at an other location other than \documents and settings\user\application data\microsoft\outlook

Just do it: Shut down Outlook. Move your existing file to the server. Restart Outlook. Tell Outlook where you put the .pst file.
