i am the administrator, but i want to be able to let other users share some
programs, such as aol without having to use my username to access it.

You should contact AOL tech support to determine how to create additional
user accounts.

Create the other accounts and log in as them.

For the most part - if the programs are modern/updated/written correctly and
installed in such a way that they created shortcuts in the All User's
profile as opposed to only your profile -- then they should see a smilar
desktop, similar start menu and be able to run the applications in most
cases.

I already have the user accounts created, but noone can use aol unless the
admin is logged on.

Thank you. Evidently, something is wrong, because when I try to open aol
under another name, aol is invalid.

Assuming you mean the full AOL package and not something like AOL Instant
Messenger - have you downloaded/installed the latest version *and* have you
looked on AOL's support web pages/contacted AOL for support?
