I have a program that saves to an already created file
(created during install) which only it recognizes, so I
can't delete it without messing up the program. I want
another user to be allowed permission to access/change
all of the files put on my computer by this program, but
she isn't an administrator. I'm sure the problem is the
read-only status of the folder, but I can't remove it
even though I'm the admin. Instead of a check in the read-
only box I have a square, which if I remove it puts
itself back in. Is there any way to permanently remove
this/grant access to the program for non-admin users?
(I've tryed installing the program into the Shared folder
instead of Program Files, but to no avail) thanks in
advance

Most applications weren't designed for this type of multi-user environment.
Such applications need to be installed in each specific user's account to
whom you wish to grant access.

First, be sure the account to which you wish to grant access is set to
administrator and not limited. Install the applications to the same folder
in which it was originally installed. This will look the same as one
install on your hard drive but create the pointers necessary for this user
to have access to the application.

Once the installation is complete, you can return the account to its limited
status if that is what you want and the user should still have access.
