I have two computers, both with XP home. I have shared one of the drives in
one coputer with full permission. When I try to access that drive from
another, it allows me to read and write to most of the folders, but there
are few with which it gives an error 'access denied'. Why should I have
problem with some of the folders when I have made the whole drive shared.

Thanks in advance for your help.

I am having the same issue in XP Pro. My computers are in different rooms so
it's very frustrating to set things up the way I "think" they should be, only
to get that error when I try to access the shared folder. I finally set up
an FTP Server, but I haven't had time to try that yet. Good Luck!

I discovered that if a folder that you are trying to share is over a certain
size, or contains special characters, it may not share properly.

Try changing the name of the folder you are trying to share and see if that
helps.

Many systems folders (Such as C:\Program Files, C:\Windows, etc.)
cannot be shared. Period.
