I have set up a home network with 2 pcs, one is an Advent
running XP home editition the other an HP running ME. My
printer is attached to the HP but even though I have
allowed printer sharing I can't find the printer when I
browse for printer from my Advent during add printer
wizard. Any help would be greatly appreciated

Thank you

If you have firewall enabled on your machines you have to
disable it, otherwise you won't see the printer. I had
the same problem and it took me 2 days to figure it out.

General advice: since F&P sharing use some common code, always
try to get file sharing working both ways before attempting
printer sharing. File sharing is simpler and uses only M$'s
software built into your OS, while printer sharing sometimes
also depends on software from printer vendors, and some vendors
do not support networked printing cross-platform (W9x and XP)
for all printers.
