Sharing parts of outlook with other users in Windows XP

Hello,

I'm sure I'm not the only one who has had this dilemma,
but being new to XP I'm not sure how to attack it. I just
installed Windows XP on my computer, and created separate
accounts for my husband and I. We now have separate
Outlook files for each one of us, which is exactly what we
want for e-mail. Contacts and calendar, however, are a
different story.

1. We each have some contacts that we want to keep
separate, but have a large number of contacts that we
would like to be able to share in a common directory (so
we don't have to update each .pst file separately when
there are changes to contact information).

2. Similarly, we each keep our own calendar, but would
like to be able to (a) see available dates and times on
each others' calendar, and (b) post certain events to both
of our calendars (without having to do it twice). I
looked into the idea of a group calendar, the help file
said this feature was only available if you are on a
Microsoft Exchange server.

How can I accomplish each of the aforementioned setups on
a single, standalone computer running Windows XP
Professional and Office XP?

Thanks,

S
