I have two computers, one win2000 and the other win 98. Both are
networked through a hub using ethernet. On the Win2000 I have mapped
the C drive to the win 98 computer.

My problem is that on the win2k computer, when I right click on any
drive or folder there is not a menu item for sharing. It's not that
it is greyed out it's just not there.

I have Client for Microsoft network and File and printing installed.

How can I share a drive or folder as well as set permissions on my
win2k computer?

Steve

Hello Steven

Do you have the right to share a folder in the Win2000 computer?

Please check.

BT

Yes, I am logged on with administrator rights. In fact I was thinking
of that and logged on under the administrator's name and it's still
like that.

um...

maybe try to do it in the computer management -> Shared Folders

Let me know the result

BT

I did try and succeeded to share the drives in computer managemnt.
Not only that but now the sharing item appears on the menu when I
right click a folder.

Thank you very much.
