Hi

I have 2 PCs setup as below and want to brows the net on both but not
sure how to do it.

PC1 has 2 network cards.
PC2 has 1 network card.

dsl coming on the phone line connected to a modem/router.
Ethernet cable from the modem to PC1 card-1.
Ethernet cable from PC1 card-2 to a switch.
Ethernet cable from the switch to PC2.

so card-1 in PC1 is connected to the WAN
card-2 in PC1 is connected to the LAN

I can brows the Internet on PC2 but not able to surf on PC1.

thanks

Change the setup like so:

- dsl coming on the phone line connected to a modem/router.
- Ethernet cable from the modem/router to the switch
- Ethernet cable from PC1 card-1 to the switch
- Ethernet cable from PC2 to the switch

This will give each PC access to the Internet and to
all shares of the other PC. And you don't even need
the second NIC on PC1!

that will render useless the firewall I have on PC1 to filter the
traffic coming in to the LAN from the outside.

What firewall is it? If it is something like ZA free, then just put that on PC2
also. If the software firewall you have on PC1 is more like ZA (paid version),
then just put ZA free on PC2. If you don't want ZA free or any free version,
buy another copy of what you have on PC1

.... doesn't the router have a built-in firewall anyway?
