I'd like to share the Outlook calendar and Task list with my assistant.
We're using Windows 2000 Pro but don't have Exchange Server. We have a
central file server that's also running W2k, and we also have Outlook 2003.

Can someone explain to me in simple terms the main difference in using the
Briefcase vs. Exchange Server to share these files?

Thanks,
Robert A

I think I just answered my own question. Briefcase updates are extremely
slow, and involve sharing the entire PST file -- emails and everything,
right?

Is there any other way to share calendars and maybe contacts without
Exchange Server or third party software?

Export your calendar data to a .pst file - do the same with your contacts.
Then use briefcase to just share these folders rather than the entire .pst
file.
