Okay, let's try to get this correct. (2 Computers:
Gateway and HP)

Gateway
| |
Router Printer
| |
Internet HP
(from ISP)

Gateway connected to Router & Printer.
Router connected to HP & Gateway.
HP connected to Router.

Hopefully you got that. Now, under Workgroup Computers >
Home there are HP & Gateway (everything is correct so
far). The Internet works on the HP and there are two
accounts on the Gateway.

WHAT I WANT
Now, I want to share files and printers but I have no
clue where to continue.

QUESTIONS
Do I have to disable the firewall on both computers?
Does the Router need to be connected to the Printer?

Hmm ... can anyone please help me out? I've been trying
to do this for a year. *smiles*

You must disable XP's Internet Connection Firewall to allow file and
printer sharing on a local area network connection. It's for use only
on a direct modem connection to the Internet.

What is the make and model of your router? Does it have a port for
connecting a printer?

What type of Internet connection do you have -- dial-up, DSL, cable
modem, or something else?

How do I disable that? Start > Connect To > Show all
connections > Right-click Local Area Connection >
Advanced > Uncheck Protect ...

It's a Belkin and it doesn't have a spot for a printer
(unless printers use CAT5). And I have fixed wireless.

That's right.

OK. Then there's no way to connect the router to the printer.
