Sharing documents

I have windows 98 and a new XP Professional. I am
sharing my old files to my new file but cannot seem to
save them on my new computer. Everytime I save it
appears to work, but then I cannot access unless old
computer is on. I have the document shared with full
access. What am I doing wrong?

Do you have the program from 98 machine on XP machine ? You need either
the version of original creation or a more recent one. For instance, I had
Office 97 on old computer; When I got new one with XP, I installed Office
XP. Old Office files work fine in new Office program.
