sharing contacts

Is there anyway to share contacts on a system without the
complexity and headaches of using a server? My wife and
I (and kids) share a net work in the house on MS XP and
all use outlook. But although many contacts are common
to each other we have to maintain individual contact
files in Outlook. In short order they are out of synch.
It seems there should be an easy solution to this.
 
Thanks, but don't you wish that MS would just put the
contacts file in an Access or SQL data base. What are
they trying to accomplish by keeping it in a proprietary
format.

There isn't, since only one user can access the same PST file at the same

Agreed.
Small office and home network users have been abandoned by Outlook
development for years.
