my company is trying to share calendars like we always
did. But we just got new laptops that have Windows XP.
Does XP not let you share calendars? if so how do I go
about doing this with outlook?

The operating system should have nothing to do with it. Did your Outlook
version change also?

Outlook did not change. It is still Outlook 2000. When we go to file then share, a message comes up that says somehtihing about it not being the default mail. Then is says somthing that IMAP is the default. What does this mean? OUtlook should be the default setting and I beleive it is. What is IMAP? And how would I go about sharing again

IMAP is a server-based e-mail account system. If you don't know what it is,
you're probably not using one...but I'm not familiar with this issue. If
you could post the exact error messages you are getting, that would be very
helpful -- I can then try to research the problem, or someone else may be
able to jump in with the answer.

Sorry it has taken so long to get back to you. the error message that was coming up said:
Net Folders is unable to share folders when your default email account is an IMAP account. If you want to share a folder using Net folderyou will have to change your default account.
I did fix this problem on that one laptop. all the other notebooks have outlook XP according to the technology guy. How can we share calendars? I know they won't buy any software to fix this problem so can you be specific in your recommendations please. Thanks

Unfortunately, the Net Folders module was dropped in Outlook 2002 due to
persistent bugs and general unreliability, and there is now nothing built
into Outlook for peer to peer sharing. You can check
http://www.slipstick.com/outlook/share.htm for possible 3rd party solutions,
but I don't think many of them (if any) are free...
