Sharing and Security; Sharing tab for disk mising?

Hello,

O/S: Windows XPP SP2


I have a few different PC's on a peer-to-peer network, all working fine and all sharing disks and folders without problem.

Now I bought a HP nx9420, with HP OEM XPP SP2. Everything is working fine with this laptop, except that I am unable to select and share a disk by right-clicking on "Sharing and Security" for sharing the drive and getting the tab, among others, "Sharing" up. The fixed hard disk is partitioned in to 3 separate drives, all formatted as NTFS partions.

In my setup there are only 3 tabs available; "General", "Tools" and "Hardware", but no "Sharing" tab. On all my other systems using full XPP (not OEM) versions, I have no problem in getting the "Sharing" tabs up. Also, the "Security" and "Quota" tabs are missing from the HP OEM XPP system. "Simple file sharing" is turned off on all systems. There is no problem logging on to this new laptop, or working with shared folders, that I can set up without problem. It is just that I can not share a specific disk.

Any idea of what is causing this problem? HP OEM XPP?

You are not seeing the security, etc. tabs because you have XP Home
Edition. See this:
