Hi! I have a laptop with Win XP pro as well as a desktop with Win XP Pro. I
shared the whole D drive (second HDD) on my desktop so I can access and
modify it from my laptop computer.
I even made it specific to check "Allow user to change my files" option.
Everytime I try to create a folder or something on the remote comp, I get an
"Access denied". I log in locally to each machine so I guess there might be
a login issue. When I connect to the other computer, I use the
Administrator's login and password for the desktop computer I am trying to
access.
So far no luck

Are you using "simple file sharing" (check from Folder Options)? Then access
to remote computer is using guest account. It might be that guest doesn't
have update access to those files and folders. Windows XP has two levels of
permissions while accessing remote files: share permissions and file
permissions. The most restricting combination is used. For example: Share
permissions of your d-drive has "guest:read" and file permissions "d:\temp\
everyone:full control". You can only read files from d:\temp\. So check that
user (guest) has full control as share permissions and at least change for
file permissions on those files on your d-drive. Hope this helps.
