Hello,
This is going to take a while to explain, so please
bare with me.
We have 2 computers in the house. We have 1
network hub. Both Computer plug into the hub, and our DSL
modem, then plugs into the "Uplink" port on the hub. Each
PC has its own IP address, thus the computers can both
use the internet through the hub. Since the Uplink button
has to be pressed in, the computers will not "see" each
other over the network. So, I would like to share a
printer on PC #1. So How do I share this printer so I can
access it on PC #2. I use this printer for homework, so I
need to be able to print, without having to save it on a
disk, (or upload to GMail, then download on PC#1 and
print it) I am wondering how this can be done. Since the
computer will not see each other, I was thinking of some
way to do this. Maybe on PC#2 I would type: http://(ip
address)/printer name I'm not sure how this can work, but
can someone please give me some advice. I need to be able
to print to PC#1, by clicking, File Print in a program.
Can someone please help me. Both PC's are running XP Home
Edition, and SP2. Thanks a Bunch,
If need more info, please e-mail me at (e-mail address removed)
Thanks
