We are all running XP Pro SP2 at work (all 5 comps) and installed an HP 4200
series sheet fed all-in-one on one 'puter. This printer/fax machine has been
serving as just a stand alone fax up until now. Anyway, after installing and
setting up sharing for this printer/fax on the host computer, all the rest of
us (on our LAN)can print to it just fine. When the user of the host 'puter
faxes through it, he gets the window asking for the name, fax #, etc, and
then sends off the fax and the fax/printer dials, and off it goes with
success. If we (the others on the LAN) try to fax to/through it, the host
computer gets the window requesting the name, phone #, etc., but this window
doesn't show up on the end user's 'puter.
All the others on the LAN have set up faxing, etc., but is there some other
component of WinXP we're missing? or is it an issue to be raised with HP? Or
is it just not possible?
Thanks,
Ted
