SharePoint? How do I know if I have it running?

Mr B

I want to create a survey in FP and I know my host has to be running the SharePoint stuff. Is there
a way I can tell if it's running or not without calling my host? Can I create one, publish it, and
if it works then it's running? Or is there some other way I can tell?

Thanks.

Also, can surveys be created locally and then published or do I have to be in the live web to do
that? I tried clicking New, Survey and just got a message saying I have to be running sharepoint
and nothing happened.

You have to have SharePoint installed locally, which requires Windows XP Pro
or Windows 2000 with SharePoint.

Best to contact your host.

Well I have XP Home... So that means I'd have to do the survey part in the realtime web as opposed
to the local one? But that'd still work right?

Yes, as long as the host is running IIS and has install SharePoint Support.
