Hi,

We have Business contact manager running with outlook 2003 and currently
have 2 users who share task data. One of the users is configured as the
server and shares the data from his computer to the other. If the database
owner types in a task with a number of lines of data within it. He can
read/view all of the lines, whereas the second user can only see a certain
amount of the data and somtimes is cut off mid word.

Any help would be gratfully recieved.

Here's what I suspect is happening.

A Task is an Outlook item and stored by Outlook. When an Outlook is
task linked to a BCM item (e.g. a Business Contact), BCM stores the
Subject field, the first X number of bytes of the Body field, and a
few more Task fields in its database. That's the data the second user
is seeing.

BCM does something similar with Outlook Calendar items and emails. It
links to them, and it stores some of the data from them to keep a
record, in case the original item in Outlook gets deleted. But BCM
sharing is not intended as a mechanism for sharing Outlook data. For
sharing Outlook data, you need something like Exchange.
