Shared Printing

I have an XP Pro machine with a shared printer attached to
it. I also have an XP Home machine that prints to the
shared printer. Everything works fine.

I added another user to the XP Home machine, and gave that
user Administrator priveleges. This user can't print to
the shared printer. The printer wizard sets up the
printer OK, and all looks rosy, but when I print a test
page, a job shows up in both the Home and Pro queues with
error status, and never prints.

I can log back in as the original user, and print fine.

I have tried deleting/recreating the printer on the Home
machine, enabling the Guest accounts on both machines and
adding an identical user to the Pro machine.

Anyone know what is up?

I am having the same problem. It seems that the printer
must be on when the machine boots. Only the first signed
in user can print. If I restart and sign in as someone
else they print but no one else can. I haven't found a
solution yet.

I found the solution. The XP Pro machine needed to have a local user
profile that matches the user ID of the second user on the XP Home box. I
set up the ID, and everyone prints.
