At some time in the past, in making My Pictures a shared file, I somehow
moved MY PICTURES to the Shared Files Folder, and that is the version of My
Pictures that programs seek - but I still have a My Pictures folder in My
Documents, and that is the one I want to be recognized. When I attempt to
MOVE the version in Shared Documents I get the message "My Pictures cannot
be moved". How do I remedy this poser? Help, someone???

Open Registry Editor and go to:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\UserShell Folders
(Export the key and save as REG file)

In the right-pane, set "My Pictures" value to:
%USERPROFILE%\My Documents\My Pictures

Restart Windows. The 'Shell Folder' path for My Pictures will be updated automatically. If not, go here:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Shell Folders

Set the My Pictures path to the correct folder name, example :
"C:\Documents and Settings\<Ramesh>\My Documents\My Pictures"

Reboot, and transfer your pictures to the My Pictures folder.
