Shared Drive permissions?

I don't know if this is the right newsgroup to post this question. I have
dbase III databases that I'm building an Access database front end for. This
is on what we call the "R:\" drive. I need to distribute this front end to
other people that do not have the security clearance to use the "R:\" drive,
but need data from it. What I need to know is if there is a way to send the
person a copy of the front end (or have them download it from my intranet
site) and have them access the data without a security conflict. Anybody
have an idea if this can be done???
Thanks,
Chris

No. If the data resides in a particular drive/folder on your network then
users will need permissions to that folder to retrieve the data. It could
be done with a more elaborate process (like a web app) wherein the program
has authorities that the user running it does not, but linking to the file
from Access will not work.

Hi Rick,

Thank you for your response. I am currently learning ASP, but was hoping
you would know of an easier way to link the database directly to my site.
Are there resources that you could recommend that would be able to assist me?
Thank you very much for your time,
Chris
