My laptop's OS is 2000 Professional and my desktop's OS is
Windows Me. I'm trying to network the two at home with a
wireless access router so that I can share the "My
Documents" folder.

Windows Me claims that it can only share a folder with OS
95 or 98. Is there a way around this, or am I out of luck
here?

Any help would be great...

Windows ME wont read any NTFS partition. If you have FAT32
in your 2k you can share files with ME. Or you might want
to use some third party NTFS readers which you can install
in your ME to read NTFS of 2k.

Win ME and Win2k can share files just fine:

You will need to enable File and Printer Sharing on Win ME; share a folder
or drive; make sure both machines have the same workgroup name; log onto
both machines with the same user name and password. WinME can read NTFS
volumes over the network.

Not on a local computer, no, but across a network, the file system makes no
difference - that's what the OP is trying to do.
