Ben
The message says "You were not connected because a
duplicate name exists on the network...." I verified that
both the windows XP Pro stations have different names and
are in the same workgroup. Workstation A can view the
shares on Workstation B. But, Workstation B cannot view
the shares on A and recieves the message above. The wierd
thing is that it is able to access the shares for a while
and then it all of a sudden stops. Both PCs are on a
hub and access the internet through a firewall. Nothing
is blocking traffic between the two pcs. They are both on
the same subnet and can ping eachother. Workstation B was
an upgrade from 98 to xp pro. Workstation A was a new
installation of xp pro that was installed this week. Both
are up to date with windows updates and security patches.
