I have MS Small Business Server 2003 and BCM update 2. I want the
primary BCM database to reside on the server and not a workstation. Is
it possible to share or create a database and have it reside on another
machine (server)? The catch is that running Outlook on the small
business server is not recommended therefore setting up a database from
the server to the server is not intuitive. Any help would be greatly
appreciated!

Thank you
Tommy

You can install BCM on the server, share the database, and then
uninstall BCM. The database will remain on the server.

Hmmm....how do I share BCM on the server if I am not supposed to run
Outlook on the server?

Outlook is not supposed to run on Exchange Server 2003. Given that
information how do I put BCM on the Exchange Server and share it without
breaking Exchange?

Run Office Setup and install Outlook.
Run BCM setup.
Create a new Outlook profile, but do not attach it to an email
provider.
Run Outlook and BCM 1st use wizard to create db.
Share the BCM db.
Make sure the other clients can connect to the shared db.
Uninstall BCM.
Uninstall Outlook.
