Shared Computer Toolkit- Shutdown script auto update WDP erases

I have tried CriticalUpdates.wsf and WindowsUpdates.vbs, having them
run when you shutdown a computer and it grabs all the updates, it's
just on reboot WDP is erasing it of course.

I was wondering how WDP works to download the updates and save changes.
I'm not sure what other script to call to temporarily save changed to
disk for the updates to work.

On a side note: I tried using McAfee8.0 Update script through group
policy (along with windows updates) and it doesn't like it at all, says
error on line 1, but it works using WDP.....

You may also want to post in the sharedaccess newsgroup. I know there is a
way that it can be configured to save changes for one restart only but can't
remember the details offhand. The documentation for the Shared Computer
Toolkit also explains this.

Believe me, I've read every page of the documentation. Also i've
posted on the sharedaccess newsgroup on Microsoft.com. Anyhow I think
i've figured a workaround. What gets me though is for changes to be
erased from the hard drive the Enhanced File Writer needs a reboot,
same with changes to be saved. I don't know how the scheduled tasks
SCT uses erases changes, then saves only the virus/windows updates!

Yes you can save changes for one restart but it seems as if you have to
reboot to erase changes and reboot again to save the updates.

My quick fix just runs a batch file to delete the contents of key
directories and hide folders (provided they don't know how to view
hidden folders =\ ).

Thanks for the suggestions though!
