I need to share a printer over the internet so that a someone else can print
on it Is this possible? The printer is located on a Windows XP machine.

Thanks!

Hi Dan Mayer,

printer over internet is possible, you need to run IIS
with shared printer on
public IP m/c,

You can connect and download drivers on other m/c via HTTP
(IPP )
ex : http://machinename/printers/

Please Read IIS document related to this.

Yes it's called IPP.
No I haven't tried it.
No I wouldn't share any OS on my network with the Internet.

Suggestions:
Buy a router with a print server port.
I have an SMC Barricade and the D-Link 714P+
Neither one has posed any printing problems on the network.

Paranoid:
Yup.
Up to you.
Were do you want to live.
