Share permissions vs Security Permissions

Greetings-

W2Ksp2; Learning about Shares. What is the difference between Share
Permissions and Security Permissions for a share and when would you want to
implement one or the other or both?

Think of it has a key to the hotel lobby and a key to the
room. The Share permission lets you into the lobby; the
NTFS permission lets you into a hotel room. Example. I
have a department shares. I may create a directory called
share. I share this directory out and give all the right
people full access to the share or the lobby. I then
create subdirectories below this folder. I then use
security permissions to give different groups rights to
access only these folders or the room keys. This way I
don't have to create hundreds of share just one and then
setup the NTFS permission to allow correct access. Keven
