Share not accessible to one user

I have a share on an XP box. A group has access to read that share and
permissions to the NTFS folder as well. The user in question is in that
group. The users account and password are the same on his XP box and this
XP box. This has always worked for other users in the past. For some reason
\\othermachinename\sharename gives him and Access Denied error. I have even
tried deleting his user account on the other machine and recreating and
redoing permissions. This didn't help.

What could be causing this problem? The other members of this group have no
problem gaining access. All three are using Windows XP.

Have you explored any firewall settings between machines? Whatever your
firewall is, make sure that it doesn't block file and print sharing between
machines.

That's interesting. The Windows firewall claims to be off. I will try to
investigate a little further though.

Thanks,
