I have a HP960 printer connected to my desktop computer via USB cable. I also
share that printer with my laptop so that I can print from any room in the
house. I use a NetGear wireless routerwhich both computers use for getting
on the internet. This sharing arrangment works well.
I just bought a Canon MP530 multifunction printer and have set it up for
sharing exactly the way I did the HP960. When I try to print I get a message
saying "printer not found. Check to be sure it is turned on and the USB cable
is plugged in." Both computers are running XP and the host is always on when
I try to print. All I want to share is printing - don't care about fax and
scan.
Any suggestions? Is it possible that this new printer cannot be shared?
