I've shared the EPSON STYLUS CX4900 SCANNER with my network computers. I can
print from all the computers but I can only scan from the computer that the
EPSON STYLUS CX4900 SCANNER is connected to (via USB). The computers are
networked via a router (MEGA 105WR). Why do the other computers NOT SEE the
scanning facility of the EPSON STYLUS CX4900 ???????

PLEASE someone with an answer to this problem PLEASE HELP !!!!!!!

According to Epson's information on this printer, it isn't a network printer
as it has no ethernet port or wireless capabilities. According to Epson's
spec page, this All-In-One connects to a local computer via USB. In most
cases you can't share a scanner over the network unless the hardware has
specifically been designed to do it (or comes with network management
software) which is why you can't do it.

Thanks Malke, I thought that because you can "share a printer" and "add a
printer" from the network, you can also share and add a scanner from the
network. Apparently, I was wrong. It seems logical but as you say not
technically possible. Oh well. Thanks anyway.

Not unless the drivers have be created to do this. Printing and
scanning are two different function. They usually do not have
anything is common other than they are on the same unit.
