Share Epson Printer With My Computers With Wire/Wirelessly?

I have two Windows XP SP2 laptops, but I can't print documents
wirelessly (or using Ethernet cables) with my colour laser printer/
copier/scanner (Epson AcuLaser CX11N), which has a USB port and an
Ethernet port.

The first laptop (HP Pavilion dv5037EA) is the host, which is
connected using USB to the printer. The second laptop (Fujitsu Siemens
Amilo L7310GW) is of course the client. My problem is that I can see
the host laptop with my client laptop using "View workgroup
computers" (in Settings, Network Connections) and in "Add a
printer" (in Settings, Printers and Faxes), but I can't find the
printer on either places (because it isn't mentioned anywhere) to add
it to my client laptop, so I could print with my client laptop also.

I have an ADSL modem (ZyXEL Prestige 660R-61) and a wireless router (D-
Link DI-524UP). I have logged in as an administrator with both
laptops. I have allowed sharing with the host laptop. I even tried
disabling firewalls in both laptops (the Windows firewall and
ZoneAlarm) for a while. Any suggestions?

By the way, just out of curiosity, I also tried plugging my printer to
the router (the router has a USB port for printers), but neither
laptop found it from "Add a printer" or from "My Network Places" (but
I do see "DI-524UP", which is, of course, my router).

Have you installed the printer software on the remote computer?
Presuming that you have only one firewall running on any computer, did you
enable file and printer sharing in the Windows firewall?
Did you perform the same task on the ZA firewall? This task may not be that
easy to find.
Did you ask Epson for advice? They gave me the answer about connecting my
Photo 1280 remotely. In essence, what you will do
is to tell the printer software on your remote computer to send its output
to the USB port on the host computer.

I found a solution. I visited D-Link's support pages for DI-524UP,
found a PDF document ("Network Printing In Windows XP"), and followed
the instructions. In short, this is what I did:

I connected my Epson AcuLaser CX11N printer with an Ethernet cable to
my D-Link DI-524UP router. With my printer I printed the network info
page, which tells the IP address of the printer, etc..

With both of my laptops, in Windows XP, I selected Start -> Printers
and Faxes -> Add a Printer.
I selected "Local printer..." and unticked "Automatically detect..."
option.
I selected "Create a new port" and "Standard TCP/IP Port".
I gave printer's IP address and just in case inserted the installation
disc for the printer again when asked.

Now I don't need to connect either of my PCs to my printer with a
short USB cable!

By the way, I found a solution for the first problem where I tried to
share the printer connected with the USB cable to my main laptop.
Because for some reason my ISP wants me to disable Microsoft Networks,
I went to Start, Settings, Network Connections, Local Area Connection,
General, Properties, General, and ticked [x] Client for Microsoft
Networks, and [x] File and Printer Sharing for Microsoft Networks.

And regarding my network printing solution, I had forgotten to install
the software from the Network Utilities disc. But that disc contains a
manual for network administrators (consisting of 242 pages), so
finding the short manual from D-Link's website helped me a lot!
