Share directory access

I have 2 question:

1. Everytime I want to access to a share directory
\\pcName\directoryName, it prompt me for login ID and password. Can I
know how change the setting so that it won't prompt me for that. Means
everyone can access to it.

Eventhough I'd put "Everyone" in the security tab, but it still prompt
me for that.

2. Last few weeks my laptop still can access to other laptop through
address such as \\pcName\directoryName, but this week I can't ... I
can only access through \\ipAddress\directoryName. Can I know how to
solve this?

My colleague can access the laptop with both the "pcName" or
"ipAddress".
But mine only can access through "ipAddress" but not "pcName".

In my connection settings:
General tab > TCP/IP properties > General tab > Advanced... > WINS tab
NetBIOS setting > I use "default" (Use NetBIOS settings from DHCP
server. If static IP address is used ......)

Thanks for helping.

well, "everyone" actually means every user in the computer that is sharing
the folder. That means that you STILL have to be a user of the w2k computer
in order to have access.
If you dont want to be prompted for a username and password, create a
username in the sharing computer which matches the username and password in
the computer that is trying to access the share.
