Shaping Block Arrows

I often use curved Block Arrows, but when I try to extend one leg or the
other, I cannot do so without distorting the width of the shape on the
non-adjusted leg and the curve. I've tried SHIFT and CONTROL holding, but
cannot seem to find any way to just stretch one leg without distortion. Can
anyone help?

This is possible but not simple (unless someone knows better)
Easier to explain with a simpler U turn arrow but the principle is the same
for a curved arrow just the shaded colour to work round.

Insert a U turn arrow, CUT and PASTE SPECIAL as a windows metafile
Now ungroup twice
You should have three shapes fill, outline and a probably blank rectangle
Discard all but the coloured fill
Right click > edit points
Drag two end points to new position
Set line back to black (or whatever)

Hope that makes some sense!

Thanks, it sort of worked. What I found was that the rectangle was
transparent, not black, and, if I pasted special as a Metafile, I couldn't
edit the points on the fill layer; I could only do it on the outline.
However, if I pasted as Enhanced Metafile, it worked just as you said.
Thanks for a real valuable tip, clumsy though the process may be.
