You can use the Snipping Tool, you can type in "snip" to the start menu search
box and it should show up, or go to All Programs>Accessories>Snipping Tool. You
may want to change the option to not put the default red boarder around the
captured image though.
 
You just do it like you would always do in XP and prior. (Unless you don't
know how.) Use the Print Screen (Sys Rq) key on your keyboard which copies
the screenshot into your clipboard, then go into a program such as Paint and
paste it. If you want to take a screen shot of just a window, press alt +
print screen key. No additional software is required.

There's also the new SnippingTool in Vista (Accessories), which permits to
take a snapshot of a part of the screen. It's very easy !
