I'm looking for a Micro-ATX case that's no more than 12-13" deep. I'm
having a hard time finding one. Just about all the HTPC cases, even
the slimline ones, are 15-16" deep. The "slimline" cases don't work
either--the Antec Minuet, for example, is about 17" deep. The "cube"
cases aren't really cubes unless you go down to a mini-ITX form
factor. I have room to put most of these cases sideways, but I want
the drives to face forward. Doesn't anyone make a case that's WIDE but
not deep?

- Mark.

Newegg has something like ~900 ATX computer cases. They also have
a search engine, to narrow down the search a bit.

I tried their "MicroATX Desktop" category, and this was the first
one to pop up. I wouldn't actually buy one of these, because
it has a pretty underpowered PSU. And anything with a decent PSU,
seems to be bigger.

Yeah, this is exactly what I'm talking about. The only decent case I
found with a shallow depth is the Silverstone Lascala LC-02 but it has
a Flex 220W power supply. I don't believe it would handle a Pentium D,
even without a video card.

Why are all decent "slim" cases deep? I'd love to see Antec take the
minuet, sonata, etc. and turn them sideways.
