How can I remove the shadows? Using XP Pro SP2

Do you have a laptop, or an LCD screen?

If yes, you want "ClearType Tuning".

If no, what do you mean by "shadows"?

Thanks Stan. I have a desktop with CRT. All fonts onscreen have a grey shadow
to the right side as does the cursor. In spider solotaire the cards have it
too which makes them all bluury and seem to be out of focus.

That sounds to me like a hardware problem. Try degaussing (should be
a button on your CRT). If that doesn't do the trick, is there any way
you can try your monitor with another computer to confirm that
possibility, or rule it out?

Stan,

What about Start right click on My Computer>Properties.
Then Advanced>Performance>Settings and untick "shadows under menus and mouse
pointer" (2 boxes)
