Shadows in 2007 print terribly

I have a 97 slide document that has a lot of soft shadows. When printed/pdf'd
all of the shadows come out jagged. I've tried to print using the High
Quality option without success. Does anyone know why this is happening?

Have you downloaded Microsofts free PDF print option (see this for more info
http://pptblog.tlccreative.com/index.php/2008/11/14/save-as-pdf-from-ppt-2007).
It resolves virtually all of the issues that acrobat's driver has
interpretting slide content (such as shadows, semi-transparency, etc.).
