shading background on Outlook 2000

I recently changed offices, and moved from Outlook XP back
to Outlook 2000. In XP you could color code (background
color) an appointment box by clicking a choice button. I
cannot find anyway to color code an appointment in 2000.
(I can change the font color, but I want to shade the box,
not color the text). Any help appreciated.'

The Labels feature was not available in Outlook 2000. There is nothing
built into the Calendar's Day/Week/Month view for colorizing appointments;
you'd have to use a table view, and then use Automatic Formatting to color
the text of the summary information in the table.

You might want to take a look at some free Word templates that use your
Outlook calendar data to create a calendar in Word, which you can then
customize to your liking. I personally use My Outlook Calendar and am very
