I have a client who wants to use SFTP on a W2K server. I am not that
familiar with this protocol and want to know;

1. Can W2K server handle this?

2. If so, do I need addtional software? 3rd party, etc.

Thanks in advance.

Hello Frank,

Did you mean SMTP (Simple Mail Transfer Protocol)? Or what is SFTP?

Best regards

I assume your client wants to set up an sftp SERVER. My business
uses sftp clients to transfer files to vendors which require it,
but we don't run sftp servers. MS-Windows has no built-in SFTP
client or server. OpenSSH is one way to set up a light-duty SFTP
server on MS-Windows. These links may help you get started:

Hello Mark,

Secure File Transfer Protocol, sometimes you don't see the wood because of
the trees!!!
