I'm running XP Home and getting spammed with pop ups. Installed on my home
Gateway is the following: MicroSoft Beta 1, AD-Aware SE, Spybot, MicroSoft
Malicious software detection. After running full scans and quarintening
errors,I still get wacked. Beta 1,Microsoft Malicious see's nothing.
AD-Aware picks up some and Spybot seems to detect the most. This virus
appears to be hiding itself and timed released? Reg problems??
All temp internet files deleted on my user account. I have Admin options but
my sister uses her e-mail and web a lot. If I do full system scans in my
account will that also scan her and the guest account?

You haven't mentioned an antivirus. Even with spyware, having an updated
antivirus and doing a full scan with it can help.

Microsoft's most current antivirus definitions can be found here:

http://safety.live.com

Hit the Protect button in the left column, and do a Protection Scan.

There are some bugs that are easier to remove in safe mode. If you scan,
and the same items are found again and again, restart the machine in safe
mode and scan with both your up to date antivirus and Microsoft Antispyware.

The safety.live.com scanner can be used in safe mode with networking--but
you need to be sure that you are behind a router, the Windows firewall, or
some other firewall which is active in safe mode.

Is there any name in the popup windows?

Bill: Ran the MicroSoft full Live Safety.Live scan. No virus' detected only
2+meg of temp files. "Smileys" window is poping up also this "888 ball"
casino type window. I got they "Smiley" pop up right after exiting the scan.
I have Norton 2004 and McAfee security discs but I have a gut feeling they
will clash with each other or the other spyware software installed if I
install either or both. Still stuck

I'd go with Randy Knobloch's advice--You have something we can't easily put
a name to from the description. Get HijackThis, create a log file, and post
it to one of the forums in his list--that's the way to get this identified,
and then cleaned.
