when I insert formulas in my worksheet, the cell prints
the fromula rather than the results. Could someone
please assist me in the proper setup to get this working
properly?
Thank you

Most likely is that either the cell is formatted as text, or you are
forgetting to start the formula with an = sign. If it's the former, you will
need to reformat the cell, and then re-enter the formula (i.e. double-click
the cell, or select it and click in the formula bar, and then press Enter).

I have checked your suggestions but still just get the
formula to print in the cell. I even used the auto sum
function with the same results. Ie: =SUM(D8:M8)

I sometimes get this problem with XL 2000. Havn't been able to find out why,
but with a bit of messing around (including changing the cell format) it
eventually goes away. Might be a bug.

Paul is most likely on the money with this suggestion.

If you have many to change, select all and re-format to General.

With all still selected, Edit>Replace

what: =
with: =

Replace all usually does the trick.
