Which one is safer? Which would be faster? Thanks!
Not sure about which is *safer*, but this is a no-brainer imo -- use the
motherboard RAID.
The motherboard RAID is *hardware* based, which is almost always better than
a software RAID solution. Plus, it works for ANY installed OS, not just XP.
A dynamic drive will also make it impossible to use common HD utilities like
Partition Magic, BootIt NG, etc., because dynamic disks use a completely
different HD geometry. IOW, once you go w/ a dynamic disk, for all intents
and purposes, you've created an "XP Only Disk". A dynamic disk may make
sense if you only intend to use XP, don't intend to use third party HD
utilities, and don't have a hardware RAID option, but otherwise, I fail to
see why anyone would choose it over an available hardware solution.
