Hi

The 433 runs freedos no problem. But then run windows setup and it all
goes wrong.

'copying files needed for windows setup'
white screen
'disc in a: is write protected.' with win3.1 style cancel & retry
buttons
cancel twice ->
'windows need a computer with at least 16mb of memory'
and it quits

Cant get it past this stage, setup /im doesnt seem to make any
difference.
Ramtest runs fine, checks all 127M of RAM (1M onboard video)

Any clues welcome

thanks,
NT

That doesnt prove much.

Looks like its getting very confused about the hardware for some reason.

Presumably its attempting to do the copying to what its decided
is the hard drive with an A: letter for some reason and that fails.

See what happens when you run something more fancy like knoppix.

that might make sense. It still gives the ram message with the /im
option tho, which tells it not to check ram.

only linux I've got that will run on this is Advance, and it runs fine.
Advance doesnt access fdd or hdd tho fwiw, its a stripped down 'live'
distro.

Why do you keep killing them ?
